A man suspected of starting the fire in a Hanoi shop was arrested on Thursday night, according to Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, and eleven persons died in the incident.
After an argument with team, the man admitted to using gas to start a fire on the ground floors of the three-story cafe, according to a statement from the police. According to the state-run news Tien Phong, the suspect is in his first 50s.
The police said the fire was first reported to them just after 11pm ( 1600 GMT ) on Wednesday.
” The flames blocked all the exits. The smell of gas was strong”, one see told the Tang Phong paper, while another reported hearing an explosion.
Seven people were rescued from the flames, with two of them hospitalised, the police statement said.  ,
