In this northern state on Thursday, a person tragically shot himself after killing two people.
Two bodies were discovered in the Phon Charoen district’s tambon Nong Hua Chang at 12.50pm when Don Ya Nang officers were called to the scene. Two people, including a recovery employer, were injured.
According to reports, the assailant appeared to be under the influence of drugs, shooting arbitrarily, and the two sufferers were passers-by.
The gunman, later identified as 30-year-old Sakkarin Singto, fled the scene after the murders. More than 30 police officials searched for him while he was unharmed.
Sakkarin was reportedly taking his own life at 1 p.m. at his house, where he had been hiding after firing several shots at the soldiers.
Officials were investigating the event.
