The allegations that former federal police chief Pol Gen Torsak Sukvilimol received money from an online gambling industry may be investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.
Sarote Phuengramphan, the NACC secretary-general, stated on Monday that the committee believed there were enough testimony and sufficient evidence to support an investigation into the  argument.
Pol Gen Torsak and seven additional suspects would be the focus of the analysis.
He claimed that the alleged benefits supposedly came from an online betting network and 17 different illicit business practices.
The NACC may conduct the investigation itself, Mr Sarote said.
A similar argument against former assistant federal police chief Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn was also taken up by the commission on Monday. According to the NACC secretary-general, the board had informed the appropriate authorities that it needed more information before making a decision.
