Grab mapping out newly launched Tengah HDB towns to address residents’ inaccessibility woes

SINGAPORE: Despite the protests from the first group of Tengah residents regarding the lack of amenities and modes of transportation, Grab on Thursday ( Jun 13 ) announced it is mapping the town on foot and by car as it is being built. &nbsp,

According to the engineering firm, this is to ensure that meals deliveries and passenger pick-ups can be effectively carried out. &nbsp, &nbsp,

Because Tengah HDB is designated as a” car-lite” area with fewer parking spaces and more walking and cycling routes, Grab is taking this action. &nbsp,

In order to achieve this, Grab is making sure that its delivery drivers and ride-hailing drivers are able to explore the area more effectively among the system of walking paths and recently opened roads. &nbsp,

To address residents ‘ concerns about the difficulties of navigating highways amidst ongoing development and finding the right pick-up and drop-off points, Grab said in a speech on Thursday.” Grab is using its proprietary tracking systems to release maps with Tengah’s growing network of roads and points of interest.

Amy Khor, the ad hoc representative to the Hong Kong North Grassroots Organizations, said Grab’s initiative will enhance efforts by government agencies to increase Tengah’s transportation connectivity. &nbsp,

People will gain from this action because it will make deliveries and ride-hailing bookings more quickly, according to Dr. Khor, who is also Older Minister of State for Transport. &nbsp,

Get workers have been jogging along Tengah walking paths weekly since March, carrying packs mounted with cameras devices, to visually map out the region. &nbsp, &nbsp,

The gadget- the KartaCam- has a lens on each of its four sides, creating a&nbsp, 360- level view of every road and road in the vicinity.

The KartaCam suitcase, according to Grab, “enables better tracking of roads through green areas and allows detailed studies of corridors and entrances in Tengah.”

This is especially advantageous for supply partners who ride bicycles or walk on foot because they now have the option to choose the most successful route to their destinations.
