As the companies try to recoup years of costs, two publications with knowledge of the situation told Reuters. Grab, a South Asian ride-hailing and food distribution company, is in advanced talks with its smaller Indonesian foe GoTo.
Investors were anxious to reach a bargain in 2025 after a fresh round of consolidation discussions broke off in December of last year. An agreement does not occur, said the resources, with on-and-off conversations in past ages all falling through. Because the discussions are personal, the individuals did not want to be identified.
Gojek and the e-commerce software Tokopedia merged in 2021, and GoTo was created.
On the acquisition discussions, Grab and Gojek both declined to comment. The revived conversations were initially reported by DealStreetAsia.
In December 2020, Grab officially informed its employees that it was in a place to , get Gojek.
GoTo stated in February of last year that it had no intention of discussing a possible acquisition with Grab.
