The government will use the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation ( MLC ) meeting this week to enlist the help of neighboring nations to solve the issue of call center scam gangs.
Srettha Thavisin, the prime minister, announced that he had given Maris Sangiampongsa, the foreign secretary, instructions to raise the issue with the participating nations and look into successful methods for tackling cross-border violence, including tackling call center scams. Thursday and Friday in Chiang Mai are the dates of the ninth MLC meet.
Mr. Maris emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in eradicating international murder, including fraud, human trafficking, and drug trafficking. He claimed that Laos, China, and India’s governments have given international murder a lot of weight and have agreed to improve cooperation to combat these problems.
Thailand, which has increased crackdowns on call center schemes in its region of the Golden Triangle, is ready to suggest and advance this plan using the MLC framework, he added.
At the 9th MLC conference, Mr Srettha will give a presentation talk” Towards Safer and Cleaner Mekong Lancang” on Friday, a resource said.
According to the cause, Mr. Maris and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi will hold a joint press conference following the MLC international affairs officials ‘ meeting.
The MLC platform comprises six states: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and China. It was started by Thailand in 2012 and aims to improve Asean engagement, reduce differences, and promote sustainable growth.
