In order to boost Thailand’s status in China, the Thai minister in Beijing is adamant about reestablishing that country among Chinese citizens. He also reiterates that Thai products must be of higher quality.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing’s cost d’affaires, Benjamin Sukanjanajtee, told the Bangkok Post that Thailand is also win back the trust of Chinese citizens and enhance its reputation.

This comes after a number of events that damaged its reputation, including the death of an Indian holiday in the Siam Paragon capturing in October and the Foreign crime drama No More Bets, which tells the tale of Taiwanese people being trafficked to an outside nation that many people mistakenly believe to be Thailand.

According to Mr. Benjamin, the embassy has made an effort to build alliances in order to enhance Thailand’s reputation, such as collaborating with local Chinese influencers and Indian students studying there to highlight its positive aspects. The embassy has also gotten in touch with travel companies to encourage Chinese visitors to Thailand.

To help promote Thailand’s good side, he continued,” we also use brief movie clips on Thailand hospitality, meal, and culture and have celebrations and occasions.”

He responded that officials had collaborated to reduce cross-border crimes, including virtual schemes, when asked if the government’s visa exemption system for Chinese citizens had in reality resulted in more opportunities for the Chinese people to commit crimes in the country.

However, he thinks that in the long run, the visa exemption did encourage travel to Thailand.

We must, however, be aware that the Covid-19 crisis has just ended. The crisis has also led to economic issues in China. People choose to go in their own state or neighboring countries when they have less income.

Thailand is still the first holiday destination for them, according to studies we conducted. Therefore, he continued,” The visa exemption policy may take some time to implement, but it will ultimately contribute to the growth of our tourism.

He also noted that Chinese consumers enjoy Thai exports of goods like artisans and raw fruits. The ambassador has put a lot of effort into promoting these imports.

” We are working to rebuild our status as well as our photograph, which has been damaged by a number of incidents. It is not the responsibility of one person, but rather the job of all. Therefore, he said,” I do want us to concentrate more on Thai materials.
