Govt to review human resources, human capital policies to attract skilled talents to local job market – PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob ( pic ) says the government can review all plans involving human resources plus human capital in order to retain and entice skilled talents towards the local job market.

He said the Economic Action Council (EAC), which met on Monday (Aug 22), acknowledged that will apart from facing difficulties in creating highly-skilled job opportunities, the nation was also facing competition from developed countries which offered increased wages to bring in skilled talents.

“The government is committed to making Malaysia a high-income nation, driven by the adopting of new technologies, innovations and development of nearby technologies.

“The government would furthermore continue with initiatives to develop future abilities for inclusive and sustainable growth, ” he said within a statement after chairing the meeting.

Ismail Sabri the particular EAC also decided with the proposal by Science, Technology plus Innovation Ministry pertaining to intervention measures to be taken to improve Malaysia’s position to the top twenty in the Global Advancement Index.

This, he said, was in line with the government’s target under the twelfth Malaysia Plan.
