In an effort to increase tourism during the busiest travel time, Thailand did permit Russian citizens to stay for longer periods of time, according to a government minister.
According to Thailand’s tourism minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, visitors from Russia may enter the country starting in November without a visa and stay for up to 90 days — up from the current 30 — until the end of April 2024.
According to information from the Tourism and Sports Ministry, 923, 113 Russians traveled to Thailand in the year to August, coming in second place behind visitors from Malaysia, China, South Korea, and India. Up to 30 million visitors are expected to visit Thailand entire this season, more than twice as many in 2022.
