Phiphat: Tips at’several’ upsets

Labour Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn revealed on Monday that the government has prepared a number of new work benefits that will be announced on May 1 to commemorate International Workers ‘ Day. These include a proposal to increase the minimum daily salary to 400 baht nationwide.

The bilateral pay commission, which includes representatives from the government, employers, and employees, has already approved the new universal 400-baht price, according to Mr. Phiphat, who described it as one of many” wonder gifts” the government is hoping to finish up in time for May Day.

He added that a second product will be the modification of a soft loan program being offered to independent contractors and freelancers that is scheduled to end on Tuesday.

More than one million of these employees have been given loans as a result of this job, and while the funding is still being used, it will likely be expanded.

He said the product is offered interest-free for the first two years, while from the next year onwards, the interest rate is just 2 %.

The ratification of the International Labour Organization ( ILO ) Conventions No. 2 and No. 2 is another potential May Day gift. 87 on the safety of the right to organize, No. 98 on the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining.

The bilateral section on labor security and protection is reviewing the two ILO conventions ahead of government, Council of State, House of Representatives, and Senate hearings for approval between June and September, according to the minister.

Representatives of this bilateral committee from the company side are generally opposed to ILO Convention No. at this point. while expressing support for Convention No. 98, he said.

In his 30-year campaign for their approval, the minister claimed he had never witnessed anything in which the bilateral committee has already agreed to the terms of both ILO conventions.

” That’s a good start, is n’t it? I privately support both of them [ILO conventions],” he said.

He further stated that ILO standards No. 144 on Tripartite Consultation ( International Labour Standards ) and No. 155 on Occupational Safety and Health will probably provide more advantages to employees.

” These two ILO standards are expected to get approved by the bilateral commission ahead of the ILO’s scheduled June 11-15 meeting in Geneva, Switzerland,” he said.
