Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has required a comprehensive inspection of road bridges across the city after being alerted to damage to the bridge on the busy Ratchada-Lat Phrao intersection.

Parts of the bridge were damaged or lacking as a result of high-speed crashes involving trucks and other vehicles, Mr Chadchart said during an inspection with Mouthpiece Governor Wisanu Subsompon yesterday.
“We have to perform a system-wide inspection because there is a possibility of debris falling plus accidents, ” the governor said. “We need to check each bridge, especially U-turn bridges that create a risk associated with collision, and people must be wary as this is not unusual. ”
