Government to ramp up student swaps

In the fields of energy science, medical technology, and innovation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation ( MHESI) wants to increase student exchanges with Italian universities.

Supamas Isarabhakdi, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, announced on Friday that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra had assigned her to represent Thailand at a ministerial conference on fusion energy held in Rome from November 4 through November 9 that included the Italian government and the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA ).

She claimed that the conference’s goal was to create a sustainable energy resource to support long-term power protection and meet world energy requirements.

Leaders from more than 30 nations, as well as representatives from various international organizations and private sector organizations, attended the event.

Ms. Supamas also spoke with a squad of Thai ambassadors led by Puttaporn Ewtoksan, the Thai embassy to Italy, during her time in Italy.

The promotion of exchange programs that allow Thai students and researchers to enroll in prestigious European educational institutions was one of the main discussions.

In addition to providing scholarship funding, education programs and initiatives that will advance Thailand’s growth, particularly in fields like power science and medical technology, are planned.

In contrast, Ms Supamas discussed mutual research initiatives addressing global issues such as clear energy, food security and wellbeing innovations.

Additionally, Thailand’s plans to establish a network throughout Europe will help them gain access to cutting-edge technologies and training opportunities with global experts, which will eventually strengthen its technological capabilities.

The development of Italian cooperation in higher education, research, research, and technology” not only increases the profitability of Thai employees on the international stage but also provides a critical foundation for the country’s potential economic and social development,” said Ms. Supamas.
