Golfer Shannon Tan becomes first Singaporean woman to make cut at a Major

SINGAPORE: Golfer Shannon Tan has made record after again.

She won the second Taiwanese title on the Women European Tour in February, and she had a spectacular summer in France. She became the nation’s first female member at a women’s main in July, and she became the first athlete to compete at an Olympic Games the following quarter.

And on Friday ( Aug 23 ) at the Women’s Open at St Andrews, she became the first Singaporean woman to make the cut at a Major. &nbsp, This means she will thrive in the last two rounds of the game.

Tan made the four-over cut easily, shooting a three-under 69 at the Old Course on Friday to stay on even line after two sessions.

She is now eight shots clear of earth No 1 Nelly Korda of the United States, who holds the record for 21st area.
