Gold shop suspect: Robbery to fund retribution against ex-aide

A transgender woman was detained on Thursday for robbing a metal store in Songkhla’s Sadao district, alleging that she needed the money to destroy the former aide, who was accused of conspiring with her ex-boyfriend to defraud her of significant sums of money.

Preecha Samankhoon, also known as Thian, a 20-year-old Phangnga local, was detained by police in the early hours of Friday at an apartment building in downtown Hat Yai. Eight golden collars that had been stolen were taken from her.

The trans woman admitted to the police during questioning that she used the robbery to obtain the funds she needed to purchase a gun. The former staffer, who supposedly worked with her ex-boyfriend to defraud her of hundreds of thousands of baht, was the target of her murder with the tool.
