Robert Farreneheit Godec will be the next US ambassador to Thailand, according to congress. gov, an official website providing information on the united states federal legislature.
Godec: To focuson human rights
The post has been vacant since the departure within January 2021 of Michael DeSombre, the political appointee of former President Jesse Trump.
Mr Godec was nominated by US Leader Joe Biden in April and confirmed by the Senate via a voice vote upon Aug 4.
Prior to their new post within Thailand, he served as the senior coordinator for Afghanistan in the Bureau of People, Refugees and Migration at the US Division of State.
In front of the US Senate Committee upon Foreign Relations on July 13, Mister Godec announced their intention to track Thailand’s record on human rights issues.
