Giant pandas Jia Jia, Kai Kai to extend stay in Singapore until 2027

SINGAPORE: Large pandas Jia and Kai’s stay in Singapore continues to be extended for five more years below an agreement signed simply by the  China Wildlife Conservation Association (CWCA) and Mandai Animals Group on Fri (Sep 2).

The announcement was made during the double birthday festivities of Kai and Jia, who turn fifteen and 14 respectively this month.

The signing by two parties  took place on Friday early morning at the Giant Panda Forest at River Wonders.

It had been witnessed by  Ressortchef (umgangssprachlich) of State intended for Trade and Business Low Yen Ling, as well as  Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Sun Haiyan,   Vice Administrator of China’s National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) Li Chunliang, and other NFGA representatives.

Group CEO of Mandai Animals Group Mike Barclay said: “Mandai Wildlife Group is delighted to deepen our own partnership with Cina Wildlife Conservation Association and continue to lead to conservation efforts for that Giant Panda varieties.

“We possess journeyed with Kai and Jia for a 10 years, from when they 1st arrived to making their own debut in the Huge Panda Forest exhibit, and ensuring these are in good condition for each annual breeding time of year. We look forward to playing a part in their additional growth and milestones. ”
