
Due to a possible choking risks for babies and young children, Gerber Soothe’N ‘ Chew Teething Sticks have been recalled in Singapore.
The importer Redmart informed the Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) on Monday ( Feb 17 ) that the American manufacturer had initiated a voluntary recall.
As a precautionary estimate, SFA has directed Redmart to understand the product.  ,
Strawberry, iphones, and fruit are the flavors that are affected. The stones are packaged in containers of six each, each weighing 15 grams.  ,
The stones are  , used to ease teething problems in children. They are intended for use by child who are just over six months old.
In an announcement on January 31 the US Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) stated that the recall was started following consumer complaints of choking incidents. As of Jan 31, one “emergency area visit” has been reported to the company.
” We sincerely sorry for any problem or pain this activity represents to families, caregivers and retail clients”, said Nestle USA in a declaration.
Foods that are known to be illegal for use should not be sold, according to SFA.
Buyers who have purchased the alleged products are advised never to feed their children with them, according to the expert.
” Those whose children have consumed the alleged products should seek medical attention. Customers may get in touch with their place of purchase.
