The opposition Workers ‘ Party’s ( WP ) assessment of the potential loss of an experienced minister like Mr. Gan Kim Yong on Singapore is” cavalier and irresponsible,” according to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on Tuesday ( Apr 29 ).
They claim that the WP team can replace the PAP ( People’s Action Party ) team for much less money. But who in the WP staff will get over Gan Kim Yong’s task force, representing Singaporeans, and negotiating with the Americans on tariffs, Mr. Wong said after a haywire with the ruling group’s Punggol stone at One Punggol.
In the previously established Punggol GRC, the four-member PAP group, led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan, will compete against the WP.
Mr. Wong added that Howard Lutnick, the US Commerce Secretary, has been engaging in fruitful conversations with Mr. Gan “because there is common respect” and progress has been made.
Who does get over all of this work in the WP? And to take it but gently at a time when such significant national issues are looming,” remarked Mr. Wong.
He added that the WP’s extended “negative attacks” against Mr. Gan and his whole Punggol GRC group is “rather upsetting.”
It is” a reckless and irresponsible approach to the employment and well-being of all Singaporeans,” said Mr. Wong.
Pritam Singh, the WP’s chief executive, had earlier stated the moment earlier that it was a “weak discussion” to support supporting more opposition candidates while losing key officials, claiming that Singapore’s international ministry had not lost its way when George Yeo, the then-foreign minister, lost his seat in the 2011 General Election.
Mr. Wong remarked that” there are many inaccuracies” in the WP’s campaign narrative so far, some of which he addressed at his Monday lunchtime rally, including those relating to inflation and the goods and services tax ( GST ).
Yet, despite lengthy conversations addressing it in Parliament, they continue to be used by the opposition group, according to Mr. Wong.
He claimed that the WP is being” they ignore it and they continue to blame the state, blame the GST, that, in my opinion, this is about maximising their social benefits, never mind the information.”
” I believe the adverse criticism of people is regrettable. The campaign’s voice is regrettable. I don’t believe that’s important.
The various PAP Punggol GRC candidates, including Ms. Yeo Wan Ling, Senior Minister of State for Health and Digital Development and Information Janil Puthucheary, and Minister of State for Social and Family Development and Home Affairs Sun Xueling, joined Mr. Gan and Mr. Wong at Tuesday’s haywire. Additionally current were Mr. Wong’s wife, former MP Sitoh Yih Pin, PAP associate organizing director Alex Yam, and former PAP assistant organising secretary Sitoh Yih Pin.
