
The Workers ‘ Party ( WP ) launched its campaign slogan shortly after the Writ of Election was released on Tuesday ( Apr 15 ), while other opposition parties, including the Singapore Democratic Party ( SDP ), criticized the election’s timing.
In a roughly one-and-a-half-minute video, several WP Members of Parliament ( MPs ), including chair Sylvia Lim and party secretary-general Pritam Singh, briefly touched on subjects of interest, such as the rising cost of living and concerns about the housing market.
Additionally, it introduced its tagline,” Working for Singapore.”
WP key Pritam Singh expressed support in a Facebook post by asking for help and saying,” We continue to speak up for those whose tones risk being ignored as an opposition party with a respectable appearance in Parliament.
We review existing laws and make up new concepts to meet the changing requirements and wants of a more diverse and complex world.
The WP’s positions are, according to it, “rooted in the desire to attain better effects” for Singapore.
After President Tharman Shanmugaratnam dissolved congress on Tuesday, Singaporeans will vote on May 3. Apr. 23 is Nomination Day.
The Progress Singapore Party ( PSP) posted a video on its Facebook page at around 3.30pm, highlighting the various issues the party has raised in parliament through its two Non-Constitutional MPs, Leong Mun Wai and Hazel Poa, shortly after parliament wasdissolved.  ,
The group reported that it had raised over 700 political questions, six postponement motions, and eight political motions.
The video caught people’s attention to the party’s several positions on different national issues. These include PSP’s opposition to the Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) increase, lowering hawker’s rent and operating costs, and lowering the cost of new Housing and Development Board apartments.  ,
