GE2025: SDP chief Chee Soon Juan questions quality of PAP’s present ministers, bringing up recent controversies and scandals

Singapore:  Since the first generation of People’s Action Party ( PAP ) ministers were” capable and competent,” the quality of the current ministers “leaves very much to be desired,” said Singapore Democratic Party chief Dr. Chee Soon Juan on Tuesday ( Apr 29 ). &nbsp,

Dr. Chee stated during the SDP’s midday rally speech at UOB Plaza that he had no intention of “papp bashing” but that he had to list out the” PAP crises and screwups” simply because our PAP officials continue to spread the lie that they are excellent and don’t need an opposition to hold them accountable.

Dr. Chee, who is standing in Sembawang West SMC, then used his discourse to trace previous unresolved issues involving the PAP.

These included former prime minister Lee Hsien Loong’s handling of a former PAP parliamentarian’s affair with a fellow PAP member, two ministers ‘ renting of state bungalows in Ridout Road, the government’s use of TraceTogether data, and how it handled the disclosure of individuals ‘ full NRIC numbers on a government business portal. &nbsp,

” I’m not saying that the PAP, this government, is 100 % bad or that it is 100 % good,” is my message. The PAP is undoubtedly no the extraordinary group that it claims to be, according to Dr. Chee, but what I want to convey to you is that. &nbsp,

He added that officials must be “humble” and that parliament should have an opposition figure like the SDP in order for the country to get stronger. &nbsp,

Most importantly, recognize and bear in mind that the PAP requires significant antagonism in parliament to better govern Singapore.

Regarding minister earnings, a subject that has largely been the subject of opposition parties ‘ discussion, Dr. Chee claimed officials in the nation are being paid” such astronomical salaries.”

He argued that ministers could fall into the charming hands of problem if they weren’t paid “what they demand.”

” We must teach our officials on the negative effects of corruption and that they face punishment, period. We don’t give them costly wages to avoid being dishonest. Our leaders are chosen based on their social convictions. Anything less, and we would be better off without them, he said.

He advised the assembled crowd on Tuesday evening to refrain from “blind help” the PAP. &nbsp,

” Blind faith encourages society to believe that things are great when they are obviously not, and worse, that there is no solution to the PAP,” said Dr. Chee. &nbsp,

Eight speakers were present at UOB Plaza on Tuesday evening, making this the first criticism noon march this election. The SDP staged its fifth protest in as many times.

This General Election, the SDP will field 11 candidates in four districts: Bukit Panjang SMC, Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, Sembawang GRC, and Sembawang West SMC.

Accept “FEARMONGERING”

SDP individuals who spoke at the rally even urged voters to reject the PAP’s “fearmongering” when casting their ballots.

They tell you that Singapore may crumble if you support the opposition. That Singapore’s success story will crumble if someone other than the PAP is brought in to congress,” said SDP member Dr. James Gomez.

Do not let fear rule your choice when the PAP behaves this method. Let your confidence guide your vote, and use it to express your dreams, needs, and potential.

He criticized Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong for saying that losing important cabinet members may cause “quite a lot of problem” for Singapore on Sunday.

” For logic is amazing, but I get the PAP’s fervor,” the PAP said. Losing officials will be a concern for the PAP but not for us Singaporeans, according to Dr. Gomez.
