GE2025: Race, religion should never be political tools, don’t let disagreement on global issues divide Singapore, says Masagos

WP main Pritam Singh responded to the discovery that foreigners had posted online election advertisements encouraging Singaporeans to vote religiously, saying that Mr. Noor may be” sadly mistaken” if he believed his advocacy would urge the WP to lift his concerns.

Mr. Singh claimed that Mr. Noor’s group had not been informed that the Malay-Muslim group and religious leaders were present at their meeting and that it had not agreed to Mr. Noor’s list of demands for political support.

In a statement released on Saturday, Singapore’s Asatizah Recognition Board ( ARB ) stated in a statement that recent public statements that identified Mr. Noor as a Singapore Islamic teacher were “inaccurate and misleading.”

It stated that because Mr. Noor has never been recognized under the Asatizah Recognition Scheme ( ARS ), he is not permitted to preach in Singapore.

Mr. Noor had applied for identification in 2017, but the ARS refused to grant him the honor of submitting to a code of ethics despite receiving counseling, according to ARB without going into more detail.

SINGAPORE’S Togetherness” DID NOT COME EASY”

Mr. Masagos, who is also the Minister for Social and Family Development, said on Saturday that immigrants who stifle the poll process in Singapore by encouraging people to cast ballots along racial or religious ranges” chip away at the believe we’ve worked so hard to build.”

Harmony in Singapore “did no come easy,” he said, and it was built over centuries by people who respect one another and have a shared desire to advance up.

Harmony is priceless and uncommon, they say. We must always assume it to be true. He claimed that it is necessary to make an effort to maintain our common ground and place as the foundation of our identity.

” Our shared identity as Singaporeans has always come primary- multi-racialism, mutual regard, especially. They serve as the foundation for our progress, security, and peace, not merely ideals.

“minorities challenge to worship openly- even Muslims, mosques are opposed, and even cemeteries are contested,” according to Mr. Masagos in some nations where there is no such thing as trust between various races or religions.

” Since Singapore, the trust between areas means that all Muslims is live and worship in confidence,” he continued.
