The People’s Action Party ( PAP ), led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, announced its slate of candidates for the Chua Chu Kang GRC on Monday ( Apr 14 ).
Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, the former MP, and two other new candidates: Assistant Professor Choo Pei Ling, both from the Singapore Institute of Technology’s health and social science cluster, and former senior legal servant Jeffrey Siow.  ,
Don Wee, a former first-time member for the 2020 General Election, will not be running this time. Mr. Gan confirmed his departure during the prospect news held at the PAP tree office in Block 10 Teck Whye Avenue.  ,
Amy Khor, the recent MP for Hong Kah North SMC, did likewise move along.
Low, the newly established Bukit Gombak SMC, which was created as a result of the most recent political boundaries review, may face senior minister of state Low Yen Ling, who previously served in Chua Chu Kang GRC. Prior to joining the GRC, she originally represented the Bukit Gombak hospital.
NEW PERFORMANCE
Mr. Siow, 47, was the ministry’s past second permanent secretary in the fields of trade and industry. He left the public services on April 2 after 24 ages, where he previously held the position of then-Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s principal private secretary from 2017 to 2021.  ,

Dr. Choo, a scientist and chiropractor, has been working in Tan See Leng’s Marine Parade ward since March last year under the leadership of Manpower Minister. She has been a community charity for more than 20 years and served as the GRC’s community adviser.  ,
” From a young age, I have found meaning in helping people, particularly those who cannot help themselves,” she said.
The barrier changes in GE2025 may affect Chua Chu Kang GRC, which has 93, 368 citizens. Tengah lands and places from Holland-Bukit Timah are now included in parts of Hong Kong North.  ,
These modifications are in line with the advice of the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee, which cited cover improvements in places like Tengah and Bukit Batok West.
