GE2025: More than 2.75 million Singaporeans eligible to vote

In Singapore’s upcoming General Election, more than 2.75 million people will be able to cast ballots, away from roughly 2.6 million in GE2020. &nbsp,

The Elections Department ( ELD ) announced on Monday ( Mar 24 ) that a total of 2, 758, 095 electors were registered on the certified registers, which were compiled based on the electoral boundaries as of February 1. &nbsp, &nbsp,

The updated registries have been certified, and they will be accessible to the public starting on Tuesday. &nbsp,

The “next step” before the votes are called, according to Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who has stated that updating and certifying the electorate’s registers is the “next step” before they are scheduled.

The ELD continued that it is already creating the hybrid registers of electors.

According to the EBRC,” These composite registers are created by moving the relevant polling district( s ) to its new electoral division based on the recommendations of the EBRC.”

The division advised electors to wait until its successive announcement regarding the accreditation of the composite electors ‘ registers before entering their information into those files. &nbsp,

Prior to the implementation of the EBRC’s new tips, those engaged in checking their political divisions’ details can do so online via “voter services” on the ELD website or in their Singpass app under “profile.” &nbsp,

Those who cannot online check their details in the registers may do so at any neighborhood center, club, or ELD office. &nbsp,

Singaporeans who cannot access their information online can check their information at Singapore’s international missions, which act as international registration centers, according to ELD. &nbsp,

For the 2023 national elections, &nbsp, 2, 709, 407 people were ready to cast their ballots.
