
The Ministry of Education ( MOE ) announced that May 5, the day after voting day, will be observed as a holiday.
The following Monday will be a designated day off-in-lieu because Polling Day is a public holiday and falls on May 3, which is a Saturday, according to MOE’s statement on Wednesday ( Apr 16 ).  ,
According to the speech, this will also use to all employees in MOE nurseries, primary and secondary schools, junior colleges, and Millennia Institute, the statement read.  ,

Residents will vote in the government’s 14th General Election on May 3.
Since Polling Day falls on a Saturday, employees should be given a day off or pay in terms, according to the Ministry of Manpower on Tuesday.  ,
Electoral Day should be treated the same as any other common holiday, according to MOM at the time.
Businesses also have the option of providing time off in lieu for some groups of employees, based on a jointly agreed number of hours, according to the government.  ,
