Goh Meng Seng, the president of the People’s Power Party ( PPP ), stated on Saturday ( 12 ) that the government had “overreacted” to the tariffs imposed by the United States ( US) and that “fearmongering” on the subject was unnecessary.
Mr. Goh made similar remarks earlier this week from the Progress Singapore Party, and he was speaking to the media on the outside of a haywire at Tampines Round Market and Food Centre in Tampines Changkat SMC.
He even introduced three new eyes from the party, including a former civil servant, at the occasion, but he was hesitant to confirm their election or where they would have in the future General Elections.
The US government slapped fresh deal tariffs of various levels on various nations last week, alarming some ministers, including Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
Dr. Balakrishnan cautioned that the basic pillars of inclusion and reciprocal arrangement are at risk of being undermined, while Dr. Wong warned that the world environment would be stormy for the near future.
” It is not real that the price will continue for a long time. No one in their right mind would have to pay for a high price for so many nations at once, according to Mr. Goh.
” But for our rulers, particularly the Prime Minister, who is also the finance minister, to actually react, I worry we have for leaders who are leading Singapore. Do we have a “knee-jerk effect” that causes us to bounce whenever something happens?
He further stated that Singapore should hold off on quietly because it is small and that talks with the US “in fact do not matter.”
NEW PERFORMANCE
While he and about nine group volunteers and people walked through the newly-formed Tampines Changkat SMC, handing out flyers and speaking to people, Mr. Goh told the media that the group has not yet confirmed whether it will be contesting the hospital.
Although there are boundaries, “people come from all places, yet Tampines,” said Mr. Goh, making it a good place to have a awol.
Despite the possibility of three-cornered conflicts in these rooms, the group had previously stated that it had plans to attend Ang Mo Kio GRC and Tampines GRC.  ,
Mr. Goh claimed Andy Zhu, the secretary-general of the Singapore United Party, had turned down his proposal to operate under the PPP symbol.
The three brand-new potential candidates, according to Mr. Goh, include: Mr. Martinn Ho, 64, a previous civil servant with experience in issues involving development and environmental protection, and Mr. Peter Soh, 65, the owner of alternative technologies business Hydroball.
Mdm Haroun expressed her hope that Singaporeans will support her and the party and that she will advocate for the needs of old and older people.
Mr. Goh defended the group’s selection of new faces, calling them “extraordinary” for having the courage and good intentions to represent Singapore by contesting, saying he had seen comments on social media that called prospective candidates “blue sleeves, cannot talk and all that.”
When questioned about confirming the election of the fresh eyes he unveiled, Mr. Goh said he might surprise the audience at the last minute.
” I may have even better, younger, or more hot prospects right,” he said.
