In addition to the PAP and opposition parties, Red Dot United has announced its intention to run in Nee Quickly GRC following a string of potential candidate introductions in recent weeks.
Mr. K. Shanmugam ( Chong Pang branch ), Assoc. Prof. Faishal ( Nee Soon Central ), Mr. Louis Ng ( Nee Soon East ), Ms. Carrie Tan ( Nee Soon South ), and Mr. Derrick Goh ( Nee Soon Link ) are now in charge of Nee Soon GRC.
Dr. Syed Harun, 39, a consultant psychiatrist at the Starfish Clinic of Psychiatry & Mental Wellness, resigned from his NMP position on February 14th amid rumors he would become running for president.
Some previous NMPs worried that his resignation, along with that of another NMP and other NMP Raj Joshua Thomas, might have stung the idea that their time in the House would be tarnished by their efforts to enter politics under the banner of political parties.  ,
In response to these questions, Mr. Shanmugam claimed that the Constitution “expressly allows” an NMP to form a political group after leaving.
Beginning in March, Dr. Syed Harun and Mr. Shanmugam, who are also Home Affairs and Law Minister, will be present at Nee Immediately GRC community gatherings.
Goh Hanyan, 39, a former senior civil servant, was spotted at the PAP’s Nee Quickly Central branch’s Meet-the-People Conference on April 7.
Ms. Goh held a directorship of the Smart Nation Strategy Office at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information from December 2023 until, according to rumors, she left the job on April 3.
She served as the ministry’s National Artificial Intelligence ( AI ) Group’s director for policy and strategy.
Prior to that, she had worked for the Prime Minister’s Office’s Strategy Group and, prior to that, she had spent ten years with the Economic Development Board ( EDB).
