NIBONG TEBAL: Pakatan Harapan must galvanise its efforts to secure votes especially among young voters and fence-sitters if it wants to win the 15th General Election (GE15), says Nurul Izzah Anwar.
The PKR vice-president said this could be done by mobilising the coalition’s machinery through campaigns, talks,speeches and good service to the people, regardless of ethnicity.

“We must maximise our strength to achieve a win in GE15 through our work with the rakyat, especially those who are in need,” she said in her speech at the Rapat Mega Keadilan in Sungai Bakap on Sunday (Oct 2) night.
She said young voters were the decisive factor in the coalition’s victory in GE14.
She said based on analysis by a news portal, if the choices of voters below age 35 had been taken into account, Pakatan would have won 117 seats, and Barisan Nasional only 17.

She said the same analysis showed that if only the ballots of elderly voters (aged 60 and above) were counted in GE14, Barisan would have captured 93 seats while Pakatan would have won a mere 62.
“We have to remember that young voters were the reason we won in 2018,” she said.
The Permatang Pauh MP said this means that Pakatan must work hard in its efforts to woo not only younger voters but also the fence-sitters to vote for the coalition.

Meanwhile, PKR Youth wing Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief Adam Adli Abd Halim called on voters to make sure that Umno would not only be defeated in GE15 but be unable to make a.
He called on young voters to think properly before casting their votes as this was not a vote for one particular day or for one term but a vote that would determine their future.
