JOHOR BARU: Political stability brought on by the recent state election was the key to Johor’s achievements in various aspects, says Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (pic).
The Umno supreme council member said having gone through a state election in March, it is time for Johor voters to shape the next Federal Government that is stable.
“The political stability that Johor currently enjoys has resulted in our proud achievements in terms of economy, investments, tourism and sports in such a short time,” he said.
“I appeal to Johoreans to choose a Federal Government that is in the same direction as the Johor government,” he added.
He added in a Facebook post on Monday (Oct 10) that this is how the state can also enjoy more allocations and assistance that will help with Johor’s developments and aspirations to become a developed state by 2030.
Onn Hafiz’s comments came after the dissolution of Parliament which was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail Sabri said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had consented to the dissolution, paving way for the 15th General Election to be held within 60 days.
Johor held its state election on March 12 where Barisan Nasional won with more than a two-thirds majority, capturing 40 out of the 56 seats contested.
