User uncertain how incident happened, saying just empty cylinders are stored on home
On Thursday, a employee was killed when an air cylinder exploded at a two-story building used for an air supply company in Bangkok’s Nong Khaem area.
Around 11am, the incident occurred at the Phetkasem 1 cover house on Phetkasem 77 Road.
A 30-year-old worker had the lower part of his body torn apart by the fire, and two of his arms were found by rescue workers at the scene.
The man was saved by Ruamkatanyu Foundation rescue worker Sakaoduean Phutthamma, who claimed he remained aware and had briefly breathed before succumbing to his injuries.
The buyer, who merely identified himself as Chaiwat, claimed to regularly have empty oxygen gas cylinders refilled elsewhere before handing them to factories. He stored them there for what he thought was his. He claimed that he neither built nor altered the cylinder on the job page.
He claimed that the blast occurred as his wayward employee loaded a piston onto a pickup truck. Generally, it is almost impossible for an empty barrel to collapse, he said, adding he had no concept how the storm may have occurred.
An eyewitness claimed that the piston exploded when it hit the ground while being handled close to the pick, according to Rescue employee Mana Kenpak.
The owner of the house had been operating an air cylinder company for about ten years, according to a neighbor, and the explosion had a negative effect on local homes.
