Suspect says ‘ Bingo!’ after being cornered in a table on a tourist area

A 52-year-old Senegalese person has been detained in Koh Phangan on suspicion of entering the country illegally and of entering the country illegally for seven years.

Around 1.30am on Friday, tourist police in Surat Thani state spotted Saikou Jawara walking along a road to a table.

Mr. Jawara appeared terrified when he saw their patrol car and rapidly headed for a barely lit corner. When the soldiers followed and asked him to provide papers, he loudly exclaimed” Bingo”!

The officials took him to the local tourist support system for questioning when he refused to produce a card or other files.

During questioning, he immediately claimed his title was John Ako, from Gambia. However, a search of immigrant entry records revealed no such person.

Afterward, the officers inquired about his wallet and discovered a document that listed the name Saikou Jawara and the country’s Senegalese nationality.

A second investigation revealed that Mr. Jawara entered Thailand on November 11, 2016, by ship through the Tammalang interface immigration station in Satun.

He finally admitted to being the person on the access record.

He informed the imprisoning group that he had left Thailand and had spent some time in Malaysia. He claimed to have lost his passport it.

He paid a Malay friend US$ 200 to organize with a Thai friend to help him enter the kingdom after making the decision in 2017 that he wanted to go back.

Police discovered that the Thai plumber had likewise emigrantted three different foreigners of mysterious nationalities into Thailand.

After entering Thailand, Mr Jawara stayed with a female colleague at her apartment on Koh Phangan, and has lived there ever since.

The lady, whose name was never disclosed, told investigators that she was not conscious Mr Jawara had entered the country illegally. She had never seen his card.

He was detained for legitimate reasons at the Koh Phangan authorities station and charged with entering and staying abroad without authorization.
