SINGAPORE:  , The Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) on Thursday ( Jun 6 ) extended a recall for additional batches of Xiyuguoyuan Xinjiang Paper Roasted Walnut products , from China.  ,
The alleged goods include cyclamate, acesulfame K, and increased amounts of cyclamate.
According to SFA, cyclate and acesulfame K are permitted foods additives for use as artificial sweeteners in some food products, including soft drinks and bottled fruits.  ,
But, it is currently forbidden to use cyclamate in walnuts as well as other nuts and seeds.
The Singapore Meals Rules even permit the use of acesulfame- K in nuts and seeds items up to a maximum limit.
The Xiyuguoyuan Xinjiang Paper Roasted Walnut products have an expiry meeting of Sep 18, 2024, and are subject to an additional understand.  ,
The products being sold are 500g boxes and 1kg boxes.
SFA has directed the buyer, Xin Hong Yang International Trading, to understand the implicated items. The recall is continuing.
