Despite having just Sundays completely, many migrants gladly participated.
Harun established a certificate program in partnership with a private school in Singapore in 2010. A further 50 immigrant workers expressed interest in higher education.
” We worked with the organization that generously provided free schools and professors for a company training,” Harun explained.
The school waived the education cost, which is about S$ 12, 000 annually.  ,
Two cohorts completed the program properly. One student is currently working as a resort director in Central Java, and the other is working as a hotel admin in Batam.
They were soon hired during the interviews because they had their degrees in Singapore, Harun proudly stated.
However, the program was put on hold because a number of private universities in Singapore were involved in scams scandals, which made it difficult for many organizations to maintain their licenses.
Development Singapore partnered with Ciputra Entrepreneurship Center, an Indonesian philanthropic organization that aims to create two million businesses in Indonesia in response to this issue.
Beyond proper education, this partnership resulted in more useful, accommodating, and beneficial coaching in entrepreneurship and skills development.
