Yesterday, business businesses started along the Yellow Line, and the cost per trip ranged from 15 to 45 baht.
Senior citizens are entitled to a 50 % discount on fares, according to director-general of the Department of Rail Transport ( DRT ), Pichet Kunadhamraks. Children under 90 cm and those with disabilities are free to ride on the monorail.
According to the cabinet, the board of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand( MRTA ), which owns the Yellow Line, has been given permission by the government to provide discounts for daily passes, monthly tickets, and special occasions as well, like Father’s Day.
People who interchange with different lines run by the MRTA, such as the Pink Line rail and the proposed Brown Line MRT, may be given additional savings.
According to the DRT, all parties involved may be contacted to discuss deals for travellers who take the Airport Rail Link at Hua Mak train instead of the Yellow Line.
The MRTA has 45 days to pay the Eastern Bangkok Monorail( EBM ), a division of Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc that holds the right to operate the Yellow Line system, 2.5 billion baht for the system’s construction, with operations starting yesterday.
For the next ten years, the MRTA may create a comparable payment each month.
In the eleventh year of business activity, the EBM anticipates beginning to profit from the Yellow Line. Its waiver may end in 2052.
The EBM will have to split the revenue from running the column with the MRTA between 2032 and 2052.
However, the MRTA may be assessing the EBM’s control of the line in the first ten years. It may fine the business or lower its yearly payment to EBM.
According to a cause, the charges may be reviewed every two centuries.
