A former Yayasan Mendaki manager was charged with corruption on Tuesday ( 4 February ), according to a press release from the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau ( CPIB ).
Zulkifli pleaded not guilty, and a pre-trial date was set for March 5.
Zulkififi Kader, a permanent resident of Malaysia and Singapore, is facing three alleged attempts to gratify an A-Speed staff through community systems integration services.
The 51-year-old had allegedly tried to get a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, worth at least  , S$ 1, 061 ( US$ 776 ), from the employee as a reward for accepting A-Speed’s tender for works linked to Mendaki.  ,
According to the CPIB, the attempts were made between April and May 2023 while Mendaki’s online information systems administrator, Zulkifli, was employed.
He faces one count of corruption, punishable under section 124 ( 8 ) ( a ) ( ii ) of the Criminal Procedure Code, for the attempts.
A problem offense results in a five-year sentence in prison or a fine of up to S$ 100,000, or both.
A person who is found guilty of an offence under Section 124(8)( a )( ii ) of the Criminal Procedure Code may receive two times the maximum sentence possible.  ,
