Foreign powers should not take advantage of Syria situation to pursue ‘strategic objectives’, says Singapore

SINGAPORE: Foreign powers should not take advantage of fissures in Syrian society to “pursue their own strategic objectives”, a spokesperson for Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) said on Wednesday ( Dec 11 ).

” The difficult situation in Syria can only be resolved clearly through an equitable, Syrian-led political operation as affirmed in UN Security Council Resolution 2254″, added the MFA director.

” Any significant political answer must respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and liberation of Syria”.
