Sixth foreigner reported that he had been cruelly beaten and robbed of money and valuables for about 3 million ringgit at an apartment in Bangkok first last Friday, and a sixth foreigner was one of the five people detained.
Most of the people were detained early on Monday night at a motel in Pattaya.  ,
A authorities source claimed that they had detained a foreign woman and a Norwegian national, Abdullahi Mohamed, as well as three American nationals, Shafiq Sumya, Ahmed Yasin, and Hussein Sheekh, whose nationality had not been made public.
The target is a British national and allegedly trades stocks and crypto. He claimed to have been robbed at a gathering with the suspects in Bangkok’s Klong Toey neighborhood on Friday in the early hours of the night.
He claimed he was repeatedly punched and zapped with a surprise gun after being tied up with wire and adhesive tape.
Authorities seized from the suspects two luxury watches, cellular phones and income, for about 3 million ringgit in overall.
The suspects told authorities they would battle the case in court, and the five suspects denied the allegations.
