Frequent weather has caused flooding 20-40 centimetres strong in Cha-am city of Phetchaburi and Hua Hin region of Prachuap Khiri Khan, and on local sections of the Phetkasem Highway.
Storms hammered both cities from about 4am on Wednesday. In Cha-am. There was flood in the metropolitan area and provincial marketplace and on roads leading to Cha-am seaside.
In Hua Hin, heavy rains led to a buildup of fluids on a two-kilometre-long part of Phetkasem Highway, but it drained swiftly and streets were dried by 10am.
Surasee Kittimonthon, secretary-general of the Office of National Water Resources, said more heavy rainfall may cause flood in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ratchaburi and southern regions from Wednesday to Saturday, brought by a rain bowl over the top South.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that flood continued on Wednesday in 19 counties- Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Chaiyaphum, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kalasin, Lampang, Lamphun, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Sawan, Pathum Thani, Phitsanulok, Sing Buri, Sukhothai, Suphan Buri, Tak, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani.
