Authorities are attempting to assist stranded travelers after their last trip leaves on Thursday at 1 p.m.
Due to severe flood in the northern state, Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport on Thursday forced all flights to halt until the following morning.
The next airlines operating to the major airports in the northeastern province were AirAsia trip FD 3209 from Don Mueang in Bangkok, arriving at 12.40pm, and FD 3210 from Chiang Rai to Don Mueang, departing at 1.10pm, airport authorities said in a statement.
Prior to this, Transportation Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit advised the people to avoid the main airport because the entry road was flooded, preventing the majority of the airline staff and visitors from getting to the airport.
Prior to the airport’s disqualification, Vietjet Air, Lion Air, and Thai Airways International earlier on Thursday confirmed that their service had been suspended.
Mr. Suriya directed aircraft management to improve disaster response methods, including maintaining water pump, dredging rivers, and maintaining water pump, despite the fact that the airport and customer switch remained unaffected by flooding.
He also requested that Kirati Kitmanawat, president of the terminals of Thailand, attend the airport to offer food, drinking water, and arrange for the removal of passengers and employees as needed.
