Flooding at Jalan Seaview on Jan 10 due to ‘heavy rain coinciding with high tide’: PUB

National water agency PUB reported on Sunday that “heavy rain coinciding with high tide” was to blame for the flooding that occurred along a stretch of Jalan Seaview on Friday evening ( Jan 10 ) evening.

The rain&nbsp, due to the ongoing rain surge&nbsp, and a great sea of 2.8m “temporarily overwhelmed the opposite river and surrounding roads drains”, it said in a Twitter post.

A few sites, including Jalan Seaview, the intersection of Mountbatten Road and Tanjong Katong South Road, as well as Jalan Pokok Serunai, were given disaster risk instructions by the PUB, including Jalan Seaview and Jalan Pokok Serunai, where heavy weather had caused high water levels in drainage and rivers.

Over the past two days, PUB announced that its rapid response teams were dispatched to flood-risk locations to help residents. This included Jalan Seaview.

They “provided disaster security gadgets to residents and helped to pump water from flooded highways,” the statement continued.
