Five more alleged people of a Chinese con system have been arrested and property, including pleasure houses and cars, for 152 million ringgit seized during a raid in  , Bang Lamung area, Chon Buri.
The five suspects were two Thais and three Chinese citizens, Pol Maj Gen Yingyot Thepchamnon, acting commander of the Provincial Police Region 2, said on Friday. The names of the defendants were never disclosed.
The suspects, reportedly people of a Chinese-led call con community, were apprehended during police operations in Chon Buri on Thursday and Friday.
Seized from them were two comfort houses – one for 65 million ringgit and the other 75 million – in Bang Lamung area, a Lexus, a Mercedes Benz, a Mazda and other assets. The seized assets had combined worth of about 152 million baht, said Pol Maj Gen Yingyot.
In Chon Buri province, police had previously issued arrest warrants for 35 members of the Chinese-led scam network. Of them, 21 suspects, including 9 leading members of the network, were arrested separately during a raid on their office in Si Racha district on Aug 5 this year. The other suspects remained at large, with some reportedly fleeing the country, according to Pol Maj Gen Yingyot during a media briefing on Friday.
The two Thai nationals and three Chinese nationals were apprehended in Bang Lamung as a result of the a lengthy investigation.  ,  ,
