During assaults on eight unregulated cosmetic and medical centers in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, five fictitious doctors and the owner of a doctor have been detained.

According to Pol Maj Gen Witthaya Sriprasertpap, the CPPD commander, officers from the police Consumer Protection Division ( CPPD ) and Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ) officials raided six clinics in Bangkok and two in Chiang Mai.

The people complained that some clinics were dispensing cosmetic products in the manner of extravagant claims and as if they were medications. According to reports, the products had alleged clinical components that may enhance the functioning of the brain, heart, and blood vessels, fix DNA and numerous free radical reactions, stop aging, and boost the immune system.

If the materials were injected into the body and the brain, they posed a risk to life, according to Pol Maj Gen Witthaya.

During the procedure, six suspects&nbsp, —&nbsp, five unregistered specialists and one office owner&nbsp, —&nbsp, were apprehended. A full of 205 things worth over 2 million baht, mainly aesthetic materials, medicines and medical equipment, were seized, said the CPPD chief.

During doubting, all of the suspects confessed, officials said. They were accused of treating patients without a doctor’s license, using illegal unlicensed medications, and infringing on cosmetic products by injecting them into the body in unacceptable ways.

The suspects have been turned over to the police for legitimate action at the Saraphi authorities station in Chiang Mai and CPPD Sub-division 4.
