Bali: In the Muang region of this area province, a well-known shopping and dining district was gutted on Saturday morning by a fire. No deaths were reported.
The incident broke out at Karon Plaza about 1.30am, said Pol Maj Ekkasak Khwanwan, research main at Karon police station.
It took about two hours for the fireplace to be contained thanks to the dispatch of rescuers and fire trucks. Some shops and restaurants were destroyed.
The cause of the fire was being looked into by authorities.

According to the president of Karon tambon, Jadet Witcharasorn said the fire immediately spread to stores selling body lotion, lotion, and soap.
An examination showed that two-thirds of the place were destroyed, with harm estimated at 43 million rmb, said Mr Jadet.
About 20 impacted store owners have registered their problems with local officials, and some had comprehensive protection, he said.  ,
More than 30 retailers and dispensing booths were affected by the incident, he added.
