Finland suspects Chinese ship linked to gas pipe damage

HELSINKI: On Friday, October 20, Estonian police announced that a Chinese fleet was the subject of their investigation into the alleged sabotage of an Estonian-Finish pipeline that was damaged this month.

Finnish authorities have been looking into the damage, which they claim was brought on by” external” activity, after a leak caused the Balticconnector pipeline to shut down on October 8.

According to a declaration from the National Bureau of Investigation, the New New Polar Bear’s movements while flying the Hong Kong flag coincide with the timing and location of the gas line damage.

According to a quote from Detective Superintendent Risto Lohi,” We will work with Taiwanese authorities to determine the part of the said warship.”

Police also reported finding” a large object” close to the damaged pipeline and confirming that” an external mechanical force” was to blame for the damage.

According to Lohi,” a lengthy formed large clump of soil containing possibly an exceptionally heavy item has been found in the seabed.”

To determine whether it is connected to the damaged network, the police will make an effort to lift the item from the ocean.

The pipeline’s operator predicted last week that repairs would take at least five times, leaving Finland completely reliant on exports of liquefied natural gas for the winter.

About 5 % of Finland’s energy is consumed by natural gas, which is primarily used in industry and combined heat and power generation.

Three pipes in the Baltic Sea that were in charge of transporting natural gas from Russia to Western Europe were ruptured last season as a result of underground bombs.
