The Thai Industrial Standards Institute ( TISI) advises that Labubu dolls, which have gained in popularity in Thailand, may meet professional standards before being sold. Offenders who violate these requirements will face jail terms of up to six months and/or a fine of up to 500, 000 baht.

Wanchai Phanomchai, director- standard of the TISI, said his organization was concerned about the health of Labubu figurines, which were then extremely popular among consumers in Thailand.

Because they were stuffed with textiles, the designer dolls&nbsp, which have soft fur, are deemed to be toys that may meet business standards, according to Mr. Wanchai. Labubu figurine accessories, and those in the form of PVC characters or cartoon designs for parents, are not considered gadgets.

The TISI secretary-general said that producers and importers of Lababu dolls who did not comply with industrial standards would be subject to a fine of up to$ 2 million and/or a two-year jail term, while offending sellers could receive up to six months and/or a$ 500, 000 fine.

After Thai K-pop star Lalisa” Lisa” Manoban posted a picture of herself holding a Labubu Macaron on Instagram, the toy doll with pointed ears and serrated smile gained popularity.

Labubu figurines are generally 18 centimetres high, but there are also 28cm types. Hong Kong- born Kasing Lung created&nbsp, the puppets, and How2Work and Pop Mart produce them.
