Feng Tianwei becomes Singapore’s most decorated athlete at Commonwealth Games as Birmingham 2022 wraps up

SINGAPORE: Team Singapore’s Feng Tianwei is among the most nation’s most effective athlete at the Commonwealth Games with an overall haul of 13 medals.  

Three of those were gold medals from this year’s release of the Games within Birmingham, where the lady helped Singapore complete a clean sweep within the women’s team, singles and doubles events.

Feng’s overall medal tally furthermore makes her one of the most decorated table tennis player at the Games, stated the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) on Monday (Aug 8).

Her medal collection consists of two golds and two silvers through Delhi in 2010, three golds from Glasgow in 2014, along with one gold, a single silver and one bronze from the 2018 Gold Coast Games.

She overtook previous national table tennis player Li Jiawei’s tally of 10 medals in the record publications.  

Singapore’s overall medal haul for the 2022 Games was 12, composed of four gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze from events in table tennis,   badminton and swimming.

Singapore finished 14th out of seventy two countries and territories in the overall medal tally.
