Fees for unused Easy Pass

The Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) says it will charge a fee to owners of Easy Pass cards that have not been used for a year or longer, starting from October.

Exat said 25 baht a month would be applied to Easy Pass cards not used in the given time frame. The fee will be levied only on owners of inactive cards, not regular users.

Exat said it has had to shoulder the costs of keeping inactive card accounts operational. Users can avoid the fee by cancelling their cards before the October deadline, and they will be refunded money left on the card.
