Business owners in other regions are calling for the same plan to be implemented in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, and Phuket after the government extended the opening hours for nightspots to 4am.

To increase commerce, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced on Friday that the government had initially extend the entertainment opening hours in the four regions for a test period.

He added that state agencies will take into account how many months are appropriate for the test and that the measure is anticipated to go into effect on December 15.

The PM stated that the extension will only be temporary and that debate about changing planning will take place in the future.

He stated that the government wants to boost domestic tourism and the business. Additionally, the program will assist in increasing revenue for companies in the tourism industry, such as restaurants and entertainment facilities.

The government is expected to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of the expansion before deciding whether to extend a similar agreement to other provinces, according to Pichanont Ingprasarn, co-owner of entertainment venues in Trat, Chanthaburi, and Rayong.

Other regions should be permitted to increase opening time, he said,” if the extension strengthens tourism and the local market in the Four Provinces.”

” The authorities should consider other regions with the potential for tourism progress, such as Rayong and Trat, which have holiday destinations, like Koh Chang in Trt.” That, entertainment facilities are also popular with foreign visitors, he claimed.

In order to avoid underage patrons from entering the facilities and other issues, he likewise wants the government to grant more nightspot users on Koh Chang permission to apply for licenses to operate legally, give them clear planning, and maintain stricter law enforcement.

Samphan Chanderm, a consultant to the Trat Tourism Council, even favored the expansion of opening hours there because it may increase the province’s commerce revenue, particularly on Koh Chang.

Despite its commerce value, Koh Samui in Surat Thani is not one of the provinces where the improvement of opening hours for amusement venues is taking effect, according to Ratchaporn Poonsawat, president of that organization. He claimed that the local business community had already discussed the expansion of operating hours with the previous administration.
