Ex-WP member testifies about ‘witch hunt’ against Raeesah Khan, how Pritam Singh was getting off ‘scot-free’

THE MEETING ABOUT THE LIE

On October 12, 2021, Mr. Nathan and Ms. Loh discussed what Mr. Khan should do in response to Ms. Khan’s lies.

Mr. Nathan claimed at the time that Singh informed them that he was concerned that the story might come up in legislature once more.

He had told us that night, on October 12, that he had visited Ms. Khan’s home on October 3 and that he had informed or conveyed to her that he would not hear her, whether or not she chose to continue the rest or to tell the truth, Mr. Nathan said.

” Verbatim,’ I do not determine you’, that was what he conveyed to Ms Loh and I”, he said.

Mr. Nathan claimed that he did not show a response verbally but that it was “rather undecided to have said that at that time.”

He claimed Singh did not specify the time when Ms. Khan should decide whether to continue the rest or to tell the truth.

However, in my opinion, what he meant was that you must decide whether to tell the truth or to lie if the matter arises monday ( on October 4).

He claimed that he thought that Ms. Khan was leaving it up to him, that he would “have no concern with that” if she made that statement.

Mr. Nathan claimed that they wanted Ms. Khan to tell the truth at the time of the gathering when he asked Singh why there had been a change in strategy. &nbsp,

Mr. Singh had informed me that he was concerned that Ms. Khan had lied in parliament and that the story was misleading because the government might already have had proof or that they might have been aware of this.

He said,” I remember him saying,” The party would get bad karma if the party were to keep the lie, the party would get bad karma for it,” and that his impression at the time was that he was very afraid of Minister Shanmugam and of the government.

When Mr Nathan asked Singh if he was prepared to discipline issues from reporters, Mr Singh” sort of waved his hand and said’ that’s a basic problem, I could cope with it’.”

LOW THIA KHIANG’S Sights

Mr Nathan had even asked Singh if he had consulted his father, former WP secretary-general Low Thia Khiang on the topic. &nbsp,

Mr. Nathan asked why, and Mr. Sivakumar replied that he believed Mr. Low to be someone who had a lot of faith in. &nbsp,

” Privately I know him to be a philosophical gentleman and seasoned legislator, that is why I asked,” said Mr Nathan.

Singh had told him that Mr Low’s perspective was that Ms Khan may appear clear” as soon as possible”. &nbsp,

Mr. Nathan continued,” And he told me that it was Mr. Low’s see that Ms. Khan also had day until the next General Election to restore support from the ground,” Mr. Nathan continued. &nbsp,

Mr Low, who stepped down as the group’s secretary-general in 2018, may become testifying as a trial testimony in the test. &nbsp,

Mr Nathan, Ms Loh and Singh finally spoke about how Ms Khan’s job may look like in the future. &nbsp,

One of them stated that Ms. Khan would not speak in parliament “anytime immediately,” but would instead concentrate on building up support from her residents. &nbsp,

I recall saying to Ms Loh and Mr Singh,” Well that is a good idea,” and largely, I even recall saying,” Well that is a good idea.” I gave an excellent example of ( PAP MP ) Ms. Tin Pei Ling, who, in my opinion, appeared immature in one election but appeared mature by the following election. They seemed to have come to terms with the possibility that Ms. Khan might make a comeback, Mr. Nathan said. &nbsp,

Eventually, Mr. Nathan assisted in the creation of Ms. Khan’s statement to define the lie. He claimed that procedures could not have been completed in a single day.

He claimed that initial discussions between gathering leaders were unsure whether Ms. Khan may explain the circumstances surrounding her sexual abuse when coming clean.

” I still remember I told ( Ms Khan ) well, that sounds like political suicide to me, to have your MP go to parliament and say’ hey everyone, I lied’, but do n’t even explain how she ended up lying, without any context,” said Mr Nathan.

After Ms Khan clarified her stay in legislature on Nov 1, 2021, Mr Nathan said he and Ms Loh were” rather relieved”, but worried about the consequences for the group.
