Former prime minister Anand Panyarachun stated on Friday that urgent action is required to address educational disparities and restore trust to Thailand’s younger years.

Mr&nbsp, Anand offered such observations during a speech he gave at” The Scenario of Thai Society Future” seminar, which was &nbsp, organised&nbsp, by the Population and Community Development Association ( PDA ) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

The occasion was to mark the quarter- century anniversary of PDA’s creation.

Mr. Anand stated at the conference that young people are a key component in creating a better society and boosting Thailand’s economy, but that many of the country’s young people have left in search of a better future somewhere.

It is because they have lost trust in their country, he said.

Mr Anand said they have witnessed their land deteriorating because of wickedness in a wide range of fields, such as the ego of officials, social injustice, and the decay of democracy.

However, the former prime minister said they even had lost confidence in the government’s parliamentary, administrative&nbsp, and&nbsp, judicial powers.

He argued that justice in society, particularly equal rights to a quality education, should be established in order to prevent younger generations from leaving Thailand. This would enable the younger generation to see trust in their country. He claimed that having a good training guarantees the right to equal opportunity.

People are born equal as humans, but when it comes to a certain age, such as 3 to 4 years old, injustice starts to develop when rich children are sent to great preschools to learn while some bad children are unable to receive a good education, according to Mr. Anand.

” Even among those children who attend nurseries, they also face injustice regarding the school they studied. This injustice has been spread to the college level.

“Education injustice causes uneven rights to chance when people live their lives.” Therefore, we need to fix]education to ensure equitable admittance to opportunity].”

In a broader sense, Mr. Anand said that while every state has good intentions to strengthen the nation, they must take action to make them a real rather than just speak about it.

He urged the government to work with the private market in order to accomplish this. &nbsp, Over the course of&nbsp, 30 times, he has seen that the private business has been much more liberal, especially in terms of how to provide equal chances. &nbsp,

” All sectors must work together, and if such points are accomplished, the younger generation may have second thoughts before leaving and instead have hope in their country, “he added.
