Ex-BJT lawmakers freed on parole

Three original Bhumjaithai Party MPs who received nine months in prison for honest offenses were released on parole on Sunday.

Natee Ratchakitprakarn, a former listing MP and family of Labour Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, was released from the Central Women’s Correctional Institution, while Chalong Thoetwiraphong and Phumsit Khongmi, both Phatthalung officials, were released from the Bangkok Remand Prison.

The Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders sentenced them to nine months in prison on June 11 for allowing various MPs to cast budget bills using their electronic election cards.

Additionally, they lost all of their social freedom.

Their behavior led to the second and third observations of the bill being declared illegal.
